About This Yarn

This is a heavy-duty silk/merino blend. The yarn is rich and shiny and sucks up the dye to create really strong intense colours. Layering colours works really well on this yarn. Speckles can also be achieved with prominent striking. The silk content makes this yarn very white in its base colour, which is sometimes a preference for wedding or christening shawls.

The knitted fabric has a buoyant texture and high shine. Lace patterns look nice, but as this yarn is quite thick, intricate detail can get lost, type 49052 is better for this purpose. This yarn would be lovely for thicker shawls and summer layering garments. It would also make a nice woven fabric.
